7 Months

Time for the ol' familiar "I can't believe it's been 7 MONTHS!"
It sounds so cliche! I'm going to make it even worse: it goes too fast!!

Aryn amazes me everyday. She makes me laugh, smile, get frustrated, and feel so, so grateful that she chose me to be her mama. I am so lucky!!

This is her smile. You say "Aryn, smile!" and she does this. Friggen hilarious.

It seems like everyday this month Aryn has learned something new and become a totally different person. The biggest change this month: 2 NEW TEETH!!! It didn't go unnoticed - Aryn teething is not a fun experience. It brings about a very whiny, grumpy, sleepy, refusing-to-eat, pill of a little girl. But the cuddles... ohhhhh the cuddles... for a child who doesn't cuddle much, it was very welcome.

See the teeth??

This month Aryn became a pro-sitter. She can sit for what feels like forever, playing with her toys, looking around for Bauer, and only getting mad when a favourite toy is out of reach (or when I shut it off because it's sooooooo loud and annoying)

Bauer is still one of Aryn's favourite things. And, Bauer still hates her. Although, I think he has learned that where Aryn is - there's food. So he likes her a *bit* more. But whenever they get even the slightest big close to each other, Bauer has to move just out of her reach.

See how they lay the same way?? But Bauer is just out of reach? That's on purpose, people.

Aryn has discovered a world of food this month. Pears, apples, bananas, butternut squash, carrots, sweet potatoes - any other suggestions are welcome! We tried blueberries 3 times but each time we've had reactions. Nothing bad, but you can tell they don't make her feel too great. I'll try them again in a couple of months.

haha she's pooping here. She's going to be soooooo mad at me when she's older!

Aryn LOVES loud toys. If the toy makes noise - she loves it. And since her toys and play area are in my office, you can imagine the sound gets soooooo annoying. This one toy is like 20 years old and all the keys are broken so all it does is "I am a cat! Meow meow" then the tune. And Aryn has learned that every button she presses says the same thing so it's "I am - I am - I am - I am the cat! Meow! I am - I am -the cat! The Cat! Meow!" She gets mad at me when I shut it off.

The hated toy.

Angry that I shut it off.

At Aryn's 6-month appointment the health nurse suggested I shut off the monitor and if Aryn needs me at night, she'll wake me up. For 2 weeks, Aryn slept straight through the night. Not getting up once. I would sleep-feed her at about 10:30pm and then it was smooth sailing until 7am when Ryan left for work (the garage door wakes her up). But then teething began and now we're back to getting up at least 1-2 times per night to eat. I'm very tired.

Aryn is the master of rolling over from her back to her stomach. You can't keep this kid on her back - and that includes whilst sleeping. But she has not figured out how to roll from her stomach to her back. So some of our middle-of-the-night wakeups are due to the fact that she's on her stomach and can't get to her back. While it's kinda funny, it's kinda not.

Aryn LOVES loves loves her daddy. My goodness - the smiles she gives me are NOTHING compared to the smiles she gives Ryan. It's amazing. Which I wish I could say I'm jealous, how can you be jelous of that?! The kid loves her daddy, and she already has him wrapped around her finger. Even in the middle of the night when she gets up for the 4th time and now we're both awake, Ryan will say "she's sooooo cute in there!!" Honey, no offence - but mommy doesn't think you're very cute at 2, 3, or 5am. But your daddy sure does. And the smiles she gives grampy - while not AS big as her smiles for daddy - are still pretty big. The girl loves the men in her life. Can you blame her??

Aryn, this past month you have really grown up SO MUCH and I wish you'd slow down!! But, I have to admit - I am excited to see what you learn to do this next month. Crawling? Walking? What?? You make me laugh everyday and I can't imagine life without you! LOVE YOU!!
